About TMS

What is TMS?

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive treatment that uses focused magnetic pulses to activate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. There’s no surgery and no anesthesia, and you’re awake and alert throughout.

Who is a good candidate?

Ampa One is FDA-cleared for adults with major depressive disorder who haven’t improved enough with antidepressant medication in their current episode. Teens aged 15 to 17 may be considered case by case; this is off-label for Ampa One and requires a parent or guardian’s consent and our medical director’s approval. A licensed clinician makes the final decision based on your history. Take our 2-minute questionnaire to get started.

Does it hurt?

Most people describe a tapping sensation on the scalp. Some feel mild discomfort at first, which usually lessens as treatment continues. We can adjust settings to keep you comfortable.

What are the side effects?

The most common side effects are mild scalp discomfort and headache during or shortly after treatment. Seizure is a rare risk, comparable to or lower than rates seen with common antidepressant medications. Your clinician will review risks with you before treatment.

Can I keep taking my medications?

Many people continue their current medications during TMS. Your clinician will review everything you take, since some medications need special consideration.

How soon will I feel better?

It varies from person to person. Some people notice changes within days or weeks, while for others improvement is more gradual. We follow up with you after treatment to track your progress.

The One-Day Program

What is the One-Day Program?

An accelerated TMS schedule that delivers a full course of brief TMS sessions in a single day, with rest breaks in between, instead of daily visits over several weeks. Learn more.

Is the One-Day Program FDA-cleared?

The Ampa One device is FDA-cleared for major depressive disorder in adults who haven’t improved enough with antidepressant medication. The one-day accelerated schedule itself is not FDA-cleared and may involve prescription medications used off-label. Early research is promising but limited. Your clinician will walk you through benefits, risks, and alternatives.

How should I plan for my treatment day?

Plan to spend most of the day with us. Bring something to relax with (a book, music, or a show) and comfortable clothes. We’ll give you detailed instructions, including transportation, before your appointment.

Cost & insurance

How much does treatment cost?

Pricing depends on your treatment plan. Please contact us at (302) 494-4666 and our team will walk you through it.

Do you accept insurance?

We’ll begin accepting insurance in early 2027 for the traditional multi-week TMS course. Today, the One-Day Program is available as self-pay. Join our launch list and we’ll let you know when insurance options open.

Getting started

Where are you located?

We’re in Delaware and will announce our office location soon. Call us to learn more.

Do you offer anything for veterans and first responders?

Yes. Veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders (police, firefighters, EMS, and dispatchers) receive priority scheduling, and we’re glad to talk through our dedicated offerings for those who serve. Just let us know when you take the questionnaire or call us.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed to contact us. If you have a psychiatrist, therapist, or primary care doctor, we’re happy to coordinate with them.

What if I’m in crisis?

TMS is not an emergency treatment. If you’re thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911 right away.

Ready to feel like yourself again?

Take our 2-minute questionnaire to see if TMS could be right for you. It’s free, confidential, and there’s no obligation.
